A truly multifaceted entrepreneur, Issa Wilson is a creative, visionary force, a driven person, experienced in all aspects of the music business.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Wilson started her career as a musician, signing a major deal with EMI Music Publishing as a songwriter and artist. As a percussionist, she performed on such major label albums including Michael Hutchence’s (INXS) solo album and Dreamworks recording artist, Forest For The Trees, as well as toured nationwide with the likes of Everlast, Shawn Mullins, Rusted Root with Hollywood Records recording artist Khaleel.
Finding that she had a talent for the production side of the industry, Issa next began remixing and producing music for major and independent record labels, remixing artists such as Paulina Rubio, Whitney Houston, Craig David and Erykah Badu. Operating out of her own state-of-the-art studio in the Hollywood Hills, Wilson has worked with individuals such as Scott Cutler (songwriter for Beyonce, Katy Perry, Madonna, Paul Oakenfold etc), Danny Saber (producer/remixer for Garbage, U2, Marilyn Manson, Rolling Stones, Seal, and David Bowie), Thea Austin (SNAP) and famed producer of Beck, Carl Stephenson.
Ever restless, Wilson’s career expanded to the business side of the industry. She launched Latin Music Artists.com in 2002 where she secured various deals for her artists. This included placing songs in TV projects such as ABC’s “What About Brian” and Fox’s “The Shield,” film projects like Bruce Willis’s “16 Blocks,” and work for the likes of Showtime, Sirius, Sony, VH1, MTV en Espanol, Univision, Jack Daniels, Yahoo Musica, AOL Latino, Diet Pepsi and many more.
In 2004 Wilson moved to Las Vegas where she held a position at an established entertainment firm that built and managed musical acts and DJs housed at top Las Vegas properties such as The Bellagio Hotel and Mandalay Bay. They were also personal management to well-known guitarist Esteban from HSN TV (The Home Shopping Network). In addition, while in Las Vegas she launched and successfully marketed / promoted a weekly nightlife destination at a popular Las Vegas nightclub.
After returning to California in 2011, Wilson handled Marketing & Management for Los Angeles’ popular concert venue The Pico Rivera Sports Arena and then took over the Marketing & Promotions Director position at the #1 live music / concert venue in downtown San Diego, 4th & B.
In 2013 Issa launched ISSA Entertainment a boutique, creative firm engaged in multiple aspects of entertainment including artist management, artist booking, film/TV projects, branding and music publishing.
